Product introduction

1.Measurement mechanism

ALC6000 transmitter series are used in continuous measurement of RF capacitive material level. This capacitive level transmitter is widely applied almost all kinds of industry. Measurement detector and vessel make up a capacitor. The change of material level could produce the change of capacitive., the change of capacitive could analyze for handling and then transform a level signal.

Main feature:

1.Strong adaptability: the product could reliablely work under the formidable inviroment, such as high temperature, strong corrosion, strong adhesion, large dust etc.

2.The indication s of position is simple.

3.No need to maintenance: because of simple sensor structure and without movable part, the product no need to maintenance as it work.

    The company offer many kinds of detectors which apply for continuous level transmitter. In spite of the measurement technology is same, but different detector design is suitable to different application.

    For the choice of RF capacitive level is effected by many elements, such as electric, chemical, machanical.

The electric element: needing to offer earthing referred electrode such as the metal container skin, steel bar of reinforce concrete. The distance of the detector(main electrode) and earth electrode(referred electrode) could not surpass 200mm, if the distance surpass, please add assistant electrode or apply bipolar electrode detector. The medium with low viscocity and low dielectric should add coaxial . And the medium with high viscocity and low dielectric should apply bipolar electrode.

    The chemical element: the material of the detector must be compatible with the process medium,and could not be rusty by the corrosion medium, and at the same time having no pollution for the medium.

    The machancial element: the detector should bear the highest pressure and highest temperature of application site. In addition, stirring, thickness,viscosity,abrasion and installation configuration also affect the choice of detector. If the length of detector surpass 6m or space limit need to choose the lithe cable and avoid to apply rigid bar.

 Installation Guide

You must consider the activity space offered by the installation point could install the transmitter or not, and this matter should consider before you choose the detector and order the product.

If the space is limited when you choose bar detector, you should consider to choose the lithe cable detector, and also consider the size of electronic parts and shell. If the flange is used, you should consider to add additional height for installing and unloading the flange and shell.

 Installation position

  If the single detector with using the metal container as reference electrode,and the also if the measurement subject is non-conductive medium,you must consider to install the detector near the container skin places(recommending distance is 150mm-200mm), and ensure the bars parallel with the container skin. Because under this condition the parallelism affect the linearity. If you don’t have these conditions, our company suggest you to apply double detector. When measuring conductive medium, the absolute single detector is alternative which could install any places against the metal container and no need to consider the electrode to keep parallel. Referred picture 4.1and picture4.2.

The distance between the detector and container skin affects the measuring sensitivity.

The parallelism between the detector and container skin  affect the measuring linearity.

The place of the detector against the container skin is not important.

And the parallel of the container skin(spheric container,horizontal container) all don’t affect the measurement.

Double-detectorscome with reference electrode, usually could be installed to any places of container skin and no need to consider measuring material which is conductive or not. Referring to picture 3,4.

  Pay attention to that you should not install the detector which is near the equipment such as obstacle,stirrer and heater etc.. This point is very import for the measuring non-conductive medium. Measuring the conductive medium only produce very little physical error.

  Regardless the measuring material is conductive or non-conductive, please try your best to install the detector on the stable and representative position. If installing positon near the flow or spray, it could produce man-made and high material positon reading. And installing the detector near the stirrer which could cause swirl which could give a man-made low position reading.

Reference electrode

Under the normal condition, double detectors(carried reference elecrode) are used in the non-metal condition. If single detector is applied for the reference electrode, it could be used in the same position. The reference electrode length could be equal to the detector bar, and the reference electrode is installed with the parallel of the detector. The distance is not above 150-200mm.

  The reference electrode must keep electric connection,and could directly connect with eath terminal,or through the screw thread of the detector, the shell of electronic shell directly connect. Under any condition,you should operate the step of eath “continuity detection” to make sure the earth connection.

  If the measuring medium is non-conductive, the non-parallelism of earth reference electrode and detector will affect the measuring linearity. At the same time, the distance between two electrode poles will add, which will reduce the response(sensitivity).
